It was a long bus ride to Minnesota, but a great trip for the fifteen Youth and four adults from around the Diocese of Western Louisiana who made up the delegation to the Episcopal Youth Event in June. Together we attended workshops on leadership and programs, silly dances and even yoga and Tai Chi, and worked on a Habitat for Humanity house that will produce more energy than it uses! We also had the chance to meet young Episcopalians from around the world and to worship in ways that seemed more like attending a rock concert than church, even though the liturgy was straight out of our beloved BCP. Thanks to the parish, the Diocese and the Outreach Committee for their support of our trip, financial and spiritual. Thanks also to the adults who traveled with us, Kelly O’Reilly and Julie LaFleur from St. B’s and Brooks Boylan from the Cathedral. And thanks to our cookie angels, Rebecca and Hailey Orr and Jerry Ernest and Quentin Dronet. We felt the love from our taste buds to our toes!
