Where: 232-HELP/211 is located at 439 Heymann Boulevard in Lafayette’s Oil Center.

What?: 232-HELP/211 is a comprehensive information and referral (I&R) center serving the Acadiana Region of Southwest Louisiana. The agency is a member of the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems, Inc. (AIRS), an international professional association of information and referral providers.

Why?: 232-HELP/211 is committed to helping individuals, families and communities identify, understand and effectively use all available resources; and to strengthening their capacity for self-reliance and self determination through education, affirmation, advocacy, collaborative planning and problem solving.

When?: This agency provides services Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am- 4:30 pm, with 24 hour on call services for emergencies.

Who?: Established in 1965, 232-HELP is currently operating under the leadership of Maria Placer, Executive Director and a 20 member Board of Directors. Hurricanes Gustav and Ike prompted St. Barnabas to reach out to this agency with emergency funds from the St. Barnabas Disaster Relief Committee.

October 2008: $2500 Monetary donation to Project RX for Disaster Relief Medication
