Lafayette

Where?: Communities Uniting in Prayer and Service, C.U.P.S, is temporarily housed at a N. University address due to damage suffered from Hurricane Gustav at its Guilbeau location. C.U.P.S. is currently seeking a new, permanent location.

What?: C.U.P.S. reaches out in faith and love to those who are struggling because of domestic violence, poverty, disability, job loss, illness, aging, and other personal disasters.

Why?: The mission of C.U.P.S. is to be a vessel of God’s love, which invites everyone to experience God’s abundance through both giving and receiving.

When?: Office Hours: Services are currently offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, by calling 406.06.08.

Who?: Organized in 2005, this ministry is a direct result of the impact of hurricanes Katrina and Rita on our community and the urgent response to needs that were unmet by other social service agencies. Leigh Petersen is the President, Board of Directors, and the Rev. Morgan S. Allen and Julie LaFleur of St. Barnabas are involved in
this ministry in both volunteer and board positions. St. Barnabas volunteers Al Cotton, Mindy Daigle and Brian Lozier help with donation pickup and deliveries as well as other volunteer opportunities.

April 2008: The Men’s Group, along with other church members, assisted with the C.U.P.S. Crawfish Boil Fundraiser while the grounds of St. Barnabas were used as a pick up point.

October 2007: $1000 As one of four Outreach grant recipients in 2007, the funds were used for operating expenses.
