Outreach Discretionary Fund

The Saint Barnabas Outreach Committee, while charged with discerning
the needs of the parish and community, also has a fiduciary
responsibility concerning the allocation of funds in our annual
budget.While we have budgeted funding for a variety of needs, we felt
strongly that a discretionary fund should be maintained to provide for
unexpected emergencies and requests that were not anticipated at the
beginning of the year when the Outreach budget was made. Funds thus far
has been dispensed
as follows:
June 2008: $1552 to fund
an emergency move from Louisiana to Mississippi of one of our adopted
families from hurricane Katrina.
May 2008: $100 to sponsor
St. Barnabas parishioner attending AXIS in North Carolina through
Baptist Collegiate Ministry.
March 2008: $300 to
Kairos Prison Ministry for volunteer lodging.
