The Extra Mile, Region IV
Lafayette and
surrounding parishes of Acadiana
Where: The Extra Mile is
located at 521 S. Buchanan Street in downtown Lafayette, and serves the
Region IV parishes of Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St.
Landry, St. Martin,Vermilion and St. Mary.
What?: This agency is a
statewide network of staff and volunteers that have been dedicated
since 1991, working to enhance and enrich the quality of life for all
persons served by the State of Louisiana. The Extra Mile Region IV
works with the Office of Mental Health, Office for Citizens with
Developmental Disabilities, Office for Addictive Disorders and the
Office of Community Services. The Extra mile helps to meet the needs of
the clients referred by the State Agency Partners. The Extra Mile
houses a Family Resource Center in Lafayette, New Iberia and Rayne
along with activity centers in Lafayette and Crowley. This agency also
oversees the A.C.E.C. Les Enfants program which offers supervised
visitation for non-custodial parents.
Why?: The Extra Mile
works in furthering the community’s understanding of the agencies they
serve, the services they provide and the needs of the clients receiving
the services.
When?: This agency
provides services on a year round basis, with office hours from 8:00am
to 4:30pm.
Who?: The Extra Mile is a
UnitedWay agency and Linda Boudreaux is the Executive Director.
May 2008: St. Barnabas
parishioners collected and donated men’s clothing in a clothing drive
in memory of Fr. Ken Cooper. |
