Where?: Heifer International is located at 1 World Avenue in Little Rock, Arkansas.

What?: Heifer helps people worldwide obtain a sustainable source of food and income by giving families a source of food rather than short-term relief. Using a strategy of “passing on the gift”, people share their animals’ offspring with others- along with the knowledge, resources and skills- creating an expanding network of hope, dignity, and self-reliance that reaches around the globe.

Why?: Heifer’s mission is to end hunger and poverty and to care for the earth.

When?: Heifer International is a full time service operating seven days a week and year round.

Who?: Since 1944, Heifer has helped 8.5 million people in more than 125 countries. Headed by Jo Luck, President and CEO, Heifers’ leadership team is comprised of a diverse and experienced team of experts in sustainable development and organizational management.

December 2008: $2000 Monetary donation for the purchase of farm animals.In conjunction with the EYC’s October trip to the Heifer ranch in Arkansas, the congregation will be asked to donate to the Fill the Ark project to purchase farm animals for third world families. The EYC will also work on projects with proceeds to benefit Heifer International.
