Kairos Prison Ministry of Louisiana

Where?: Kairos Prison
Ministry Louisiana is part of Kairos Prison Ministry International,
located in Florida.
What?: Kairos is a body
of ministries addressing the spiritual needs of incarcerated men, women
and children, their families and to those who work in the prison
environment.
Why?: The purpose of
Kairos is the building of strong Christian communities within the
environment of correctional institutions.
When?: Three times a year
volunteers go to Angola Penitentiary for a Kairos Ministry weekend.
Who?: ClintWomack and Don
Leger were on the first Kairos team in 1993 when the ministry was
initiated in our area. Jim Lambert, who has been involved since 2001,
currently heads the Saint Barnabas team which enlists the donation of
100 dozen cookies from the congregation for each ministry weekend.
Other parishioners committed to this ministry are Barbara Lambert,
David Reid, Barbara Reid and
John Austin.
March 2008: $300 Monetary
donation given for volunteer lodging for KAIROS MinistryWeekend. St.
Barnabas also provided volunteers and the donation of 100 dozen cookies. |
