What?: The Salvation Army serves the Lafayette area by providing Emergency Shelters, Food and Nutrition programs, seasonal services and worship opportunities.

Why?: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

When?: Services are available Monday through Friday during office hours, with weekend services available as scheduled.

Who?: In 1925 the first official Salvation Army service unit was designated in Lafayette at the request of local residents seeking aid for the needy. Today, Captain Jon-Phil Winter is Corps Officer ensuring that the community corps continues providing the area with emergency services and worship opportunities.

June 2008: $500: Monetary donation for school uniforms. Parishioners at Saint Barnabas also participated in a school uniform drive for the Salvation Army School Uniform Outreach.
