Ms. Holly "Kit" Howet

Junior Warden

Holly "Kit" Howat currently serves as Junior Warden, an office to which she was first elected at the 2009 Vestry retreat. As Junior Warden, Kit is responsible for maintenance and improvements to the church’s campus which includes the sanctuary, church office, space used by the ESA and the rectory. She also sits on the Capital Improvements Committee.

Kit is married to Tim and is the mother of Spencer (close to 1 yr old) and the stepmother of Samantha (14) and Connor (10). She also works full-time as an education researcher at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Picard Center for Child Development and Lifelong Learning. The Howats have been members of St. Barnabas for four years and Kit has been active as a worship leader and member of the Adult Christian Education committee before joining the Vestry.

As Junior Warden, Kit hopes to improve the longevity of our church buildings by investing in much needed maintenance. She believes that the church is a symbol of God’s house and we should care for it.
