Ms. Norma Jean Luckey

Director of Children's & Youth Music Ministries

Norma Jean Luckey has served at Saint Barnabas as Director of Children's & Youth Music Ministries since the fall of 2008, while continuing work as Chorus Director at Saint Thomas More High School, also in Lafayette.

Ms. Luckey has served as Director of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette's Children's Chorus program for 20 years, and is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She received a Master of Music Education from Duquesne University, and Master Plus 30 from the Universtiy of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and UL. She has been teaching for 37 years and has worked as both a Christian Education Director and a Church
Music Director.

At Saint Barnabas, Norma Jean leads the Children's Music Ministry and Youth Music Ministry. The ministries combine the vocal and instrumental gifts of the parish's young people, who regularly share those gifts during Sunday worship.

Norma Jean and her husband, Robert, who is the Director of Jazz Studies at UL, have two grown children and two grandchildren.
